A single round dark brown compressed tea cake is centered among several green-and-white tea tin cans with Chinese text, arranged on a light beige background. The leaves for this tea come from Yiwu's old trees. They are fermented in small piles, slowly and carefully, so the tea stays clean and gentle. Then each portion is pressed into a small round cake, about the size of a coin.

Ripe pu-erh from Yiwu, Yunnan, pressed into single-brew mini cakes. Individually wrapped, no prying. Pine-sweet and smooth. Two glass jars with wooden lids.

One small cake. One perfect pot.
Yiwu ripe pu-erh, pressed into coins of 5 to 8 grams. Unwrap, drop in, pour. Nothing to break, nothing to measure.

THE TEA
Yiwu sits in the far south of Yunnan, close to the Laos border. Old forests. Older tea trees. For centuries, some of China's most prized pu-erh has come from these hills.

The leaves for this tea come from Yiwu's old trees. They are fermented in small piles, slowly and carefully, so the tea stays clean and gentle. Then each portion is pressed into a small round cake, about the size of a coin.

Pu-erh is usually pressed into big cakes of 357 grams. To brew one, you need a pick, patience, and a steady hand. Chips fly. Leaves break.

This is simpler. One cake. One pot. Unwrap it and it's ready.

In the cup, the liquor turns deep red and clear. The first sip is smooth. Then comes a soft pine note, and a sweetness that lingers.

A tea for quiet evenings, and the pause between two busy days.

TASTING NOTES
Pine resin. Dark honey. Dried dates. Soft forest earth. A clean, sweet finish.

WHY MINI CAKES
No pick, no knife, no crumbs.
One cake, one brewing session.
Each one wrapped, so the last cake tastes like the first.
Easy to take to the office, on a trip, or to a friend's house.

THE GIFT
Two clear glass jars with solid wooden lids. Through the glass, dozens of small cakes in green paper wrappers, stacked like old coins.

Each jar sits beautifully on a shelf or desk. When the tea runs out, keep them for something else.

Comes with a gift bag.

HOW TO BREW
Gaiwan or small teapot: One cake per 100 to 150ml. Boiling water, 100°C. Rinse once with a slightly longer pour, about 10 seconds, to help the cake open. Then steep 10 to 15 seconds, adding time as you go. Good for 8 to 10 infusions.

Teapot or mug: One cake per 300ml. Boiling water. Steep 3 to 5 minutes. The cake will unfurl as it brews. Re-steep two or three times.

PERFECT FOR
New pu-erh drinkers. Busy people who still want a proper cup. Office drawers, travel bags, and anyone who has ever fought a tea cake and lost.

Good tea. Moment of quiet.
